#antiquity Dragon Walk

Size: 31×50 cm
Material: silk thread

The theme of this painting is Kesi. Kesi, also known as Kesi, is a traditional Chinese silk fabric. Its characteristic is that it is woven in the Kesi weaving method. The weft does not run across the entire frame, but only when needed. The method of interweaving with the warp threads is called the "opening the warp and breaking the weft" method. The front and back of the finished product are the same, and the outlines of different colors are not connected. When viewed with backlight, there are little holes visible, as if they were carved with a knife. Initially, the quilting technique of "opening the warp and cutting the weft" was used on wool fabrics, which was called quilted wool. In the Tang Dynasty, this technique began to be used on silk fabrics.
Kesi technology is very rare, because the technology is complex and rarely passed down to other people, which makes things rare and valuable. In particular, antique handmade tapestry is even rarer.
