Genesis 27 : 30, 34
Size: 38×47cm
Material: silk thread
After Isaac finished blessing Jacob and he had scarcely left his father’s presence, Esau came home from hunting. Upon hearing the news from his father, Esau cried out bitterly, “My father, can’t you bless me too?”
However, Isaac did not have any blessings left for Esau.
Esau traded his firstborn’s rights to Jacob for a bowl of red bean stew.
For a bowl of red bean stew, Esau shrugged off his rights as the firstborn. He lost his first-born blessings from the very moment he ate the soup.
Humans act on what is in their hearts. Wherever their treasure is, their heart will also be there.
People often say that character determines everything. Fortunately, God specializes in using the important and the mundane things in life as well as the challenges and the changes we face to mold our character. The Maker of heaven and earth will keep molding our character until it becomes something beautiful.
