12.#Noah built an altar to offer sacrifices
Genesis 8 : 20-22, 9 : 8-17
Size: 38×47cm
Material: silk thread
Noah built an altar to God. He selected clean animals and birds from every species and offered them as a burnt offering to God. God smelled the sweet fragrance and thought, “I will never again curse the ground and kill every living thing because of humans. For as long as the Earth lasts, the cycle of planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never stop.”
Human beings often disregard all morality in moments of greed. Their thirst for power and fame often results in irreparable damage and utter destruction.
However, God’s anger lasts only a moment and God’s favor endures forever. Like a mother holding her child close, God will embrace us and lovingly guide us as we begin to thank God and respect the universe the Creator made.
God said to Noah, “I am making a covenant with you and your descendants and every living creature that came out of the ship - birds, farm animals, and wild animals. I am making this covenant with you: Never again will I let floodwaters destroy all life. The rainbow will be the sign of this covenant. From now on, whenever a rainbow appears in a cloud, I will see it and remember the eternal covenant I made with all living creatures.”
